Application Support - Store Systems

Katy, TX
The Stores Engineering team is responsible for designing and administering store systems.  The Stores Support engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to store systems design, store systems administration, mobile device management, software deployment, and payment authorization.  The position will aid in the design and administration of our ever-evolving store systems and ensure quality and uptime.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and administer store systems hardware, including POS, peripherals, and mobile devices
  • Provide third-tier support for issues encountered with store systems
  • Package and deploy third party applications 
  • Improve process efficiency through reporting, scripting, and automation
  • Open and troubleshoot issues with business partners 
  • Participate in an on-call rotation that supports our stores around the world
  • Creating documentation to facilitate system design and support
  • Provide assistance as a technical resource for Store Systems projects 
Qualifications:
  • 4 year degree in an IT related field
  • 2 years experience with Linux server/desktop administration
  • 2 years experience with vendor management
  • 2 years experience with 3rd party application management
  • 1 year experience with common Linux scripting  (BASH, Perl, Python)
  • 1 year experience with mobile device management (iOS, Android, Win Mobile)
  • Possess fundamental knowledge of LAN topology and protocols 
  • Experience managing Windows and SUSE Linux server-based software a plus
  • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fact paced environment
  • Effective verbal, telephone, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong personal time management skills
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and customer service skills
  • Experience with IT security best practices a plus (SarbOx, PCI)
  • Technical experience in a retail environment a plus
