Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Lawson Developer with extensive experience in the AS400 (IBM i) environment. In this role, you will be the backbone of our retail operations, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical Lawson ERP modules especially Retail accounting/finance. You will bridge the gap between legacy stability and modern retail demands, ensuring our inventory, financial, and supply chain systems run without a hitch.
Application Development: Design and code enhancements for Lawson S3 or M3 modules using RPG (III, IV, ILE, Free Format) and CL on the IBM i platform.
System Integration: Develop and manage interfaces (API, EDI, FTP) between Lawson and third-party retail systems, such as Point of Sale (POS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and E-commerce platforms.
Database Management: Maintain and optimize DB2/400 databases, ensuring data integrity across high-volume retail transactions.
Troubleshooting: Act as the Tier 3 support for Lawson-related issues, performing root-cause analysis on batch jobs, job streams, and system bottlenecks.
Modernization: Assist in migrating or modernizing legacy green-screen processes into web-based or GUI environments using Infor modern tools (e.g., Infor OS, Ming.le).
Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical specifications, system maps, and disaster recovery procedures.
Required Technical Skills
Core Languages: Mastery of RPGLE (ILE), SQLRPGLE, CL, and DB2 SQL.
Lawson Expertise: Strong functional and technical knowledge of Lawson/Infor financial suites (specifically Procurement, Inventory, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger).
OS/400 Proficiency: Deep understanding of IBM i operating systems, Work Management, and Job Scheduling (e.g., ROBOT/SCHEDULE).
Integration Tools: Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and XML/JSON for retail data exchange.
Reporting: Proficiency with Lawson Business Intelligence (LBI) or Crystal Reports.
