Role Overview:
-We are looking for a strong Data Architect to lead a large-scale database modernization initiative focused on consolidating a complex microservices-based database ecosystem (~40 databases) into a centralized MySQL architecture.
-The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data architecture, database migration, schema consolidation, and enterprise-scale modernization programs. Experience in retail and/or supply chain environments is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead the architecture and migration strategy from distributed microservice databases to a unified MySQL platform.
-Analyze existing database structures, dependencies, and integrations to design the target-state architecture.
-Define logical and physical data models, schema consolidation approaches, and migration frameworks.
-Drive data migration activities including mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
-Optimize database performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
-Collaborate with engineering, application, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth execution.
-Establish data architecture standards, governance, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
-10+ years of experience in Data Architecture / Database Engineering.
-Strong hands-on expertise with MySQL and relational database design.
-Proven experience leading large-scale database migration and consolidation initiatives.
-Strong understanding of: Data modeling, Schema design & normalization, SQL performance tuning, Data migration strategies & disaster recovery
-Experience working with microservices-based data architectures.
-Strong stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:
-Experience in Retail and/or Supply Chain domains.
-Exposure to enterprise modernization and legacy transformation programs.
-Familiarity with cloud environments and DevOps/DataOps practices.
