Release Manager

Plano, Texas
Seeking a seasoned Release Manager to oversee our software release processes and pipeline tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a Release Engineer with extensive experience in managing complex release cycles and using industry-standard tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Spinnaker.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

 
  • Oversee release management processes and policies in coordination with software development and operations teams.
  • Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Experience working in an AWS cloud environment.
  • Coordinate release content and effort.
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
  • Produce Deployment, Run Books, and Implementation Plans.
  • Peridic release reporting and manage release schedules for multiple applications across various portfolios.
  • Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required.
  • Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities.
  • Has prior hands-on experience as a Release Engineer.
  • Work with DevOps tools to manage and streamline build and release processes.
  • Experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins and Spinnaker
  • Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations, and troubleshooting procedures related to the release management process.
  • Facilitates the documentation of rollback strategies, hypercare support, and handoffs to production support teams.
  • Develops and maintains formal release records to track release content.
  • Participate in Continuous Delivery, Continuous Testing, and Continuous Deployment as needed
  • Must have a strong background in software development and software engineering principles.
  • Proven experience in managing releases in complex environments, including hands-on experience with Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Spinnaker.
  • Excellent skills in coordination and communication to handle multiple priorities with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
